ACTIVE/STANDBY FREQUENCY CONTROL

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could press a button to toggle between an active and standby frequency just like a panel mount radio?  We sure thought so, and that what they did. When you enter a new frequency the last frequency displayed is retained in a buffer memory for instant recall when the Active/Standby button is depressed. To return to the previous frequency, press the button again to flip-flop between frequencies. We wondered why JRC is the first handheld manufacturer to offer this basic and useful feature. I guess someone finally decided to give pilots what they asked for instead of what engineers thought they needed.

DUAL WATCH

Have you ever wanted to monitor, let's say an ATIS broadcast and an approach control frequency at the same time? What a concept, the ability to monitor two frequencies at the same time. With Dual Watch you can monitor a secondary frequency and never miss a radio call from your primary frequency. If you don’t find this feature useful we have a couple of tin cans with some string for you.

INSTANT MEMORY WRITE

What the heck, another new feature! Of course, they call it Instant Memory Write because you don’t have to press this button down, then that one, while turning this thing over here to enter a frequency into memory.  With the JHP-520, it’s simple - press the Instant Memory Write button and voila, the displayed frequency is automatically entered in the next available memory location. It’s that simple. Lets say you’re at an airshow scanning the frequency band and you lock onto an active frequency you would like to save. Press the Instant Memory Write button, and you saved it.

NAV SCAN

Want to find the VOR stations within your range of operation? With Nav Scan you scan only the navigation frequency band. When a signal is secured the DVOR (Digital VOR) circuit becomes active displaying your bearing from the VOR station. No other handheld on the market offers you these exclusive and useful features like JHP.
